Do you know how much Omega-3 is in your bloodstream?
The HS-Omega-3 Index® is a new test that measures blood levels of protective omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA. The test is available from Our Favorite Health Products, LLC. The desired HS-Omega-3 Index® level is 8%, but most of us have an index in the range of 3 to 4%.
By reducing inflammation, blood clots and improving membrane function, omega-3 fatty acids are associated with a lower risk of heart complications, including heart disease, plaque buildup and heart attacks, both in persons with a history of heart disease and in healthy individuals.
Our Favorite Health Products is pleased to make this test available. Knowing how much Omega-3 to take on a daily basis is impossible to know without the results of the HS-Omega-3 Index® Test.
To raise your HS-Omega-3 Index  you will need to Increase your intake of omega-3,  EPA+DHA. The amount cannot be predicted with absolute certainty. Nevertheless, if your HS-Omega-3 Index is between 4% and 8%, the recommendation would be to increase your intake by 500 to 1000 mg per day, either by eating more oily fish or taking omega-3 fish oil supplements. With an HS-Omega-3 Index of less than 4%, the recommendation would to increase the intake by 1000 to 3000mg per day.
The test is simple, a finger-stick collection of your specimen which is mailed in the provided mailer to the lab.
The personal report will allow you to determine the success of your current omega-3 intake or adjust your ongoing intake to achieve a desired level.
While optimal levels have not yet been defined for EPA and DHA in all circumstances, the HS-Omega-3 Index® Test may be used to document improved omega-3 levels in people who want to reduce risk for several maladies: eye health, heart health, joint diseases, mental health and pre-natal and infant health.
After purchase, your kit will be sent to promptly. The kit contains detailed instructions for collecting a drop of blood.
After you have filled out the necessary forms and let the sample dry on the collection card, place the card, along with the desiccant pack and order form in the return mail envelope. Mail the envelope to the lab immediately after collecting the sample.
The HS-Omega-3 Index® is an accurate, precise and validated measure of your red blood cell omega-3 level. The assay is reproducible and highly responsive to changes in omega-3 intake. Individual variability in the HS-Omega-3 Index® is very low.
You will be notified by email and mail that your report is ready for downloading. Click on the link in the email notification and click on "Test Results" to view your customized report. You can download your report, or simply view it online. Your reports will remain available online for 5 years.
